Kingdom: Part III

Kingdom: The reign and rule of God through his son Jesus Christ, consisting of the people of God made righteous by the blood of Jesus Christ.

What is the mission of the church?  This week we wrapped up our Kingdom series talking about what our primary mission is as kingdom citizens. That although doing good for others is a very good and biblical thing, the Kingdom of God only comes through the proclaiming of the gospel and people repenting and turning to God.

Read Mark 1:15 & Matthew 28:18-20

1. According to Jesus himself, what was his main mission on earth? Why is it important to make a distinction between Jesus’ main mission, and the other important parts of his ministry?

2. Is our mission the exact same as Christ’s? If yes, how? If no, how does it differ and why would that be important?

3. Why do you think it is important to make such a strong distinction between doing good things and doing kingdom things? How does it affect our mission and why does that matter so much?

4. How do you think having a strong understanding of the Kingdom of God and how it comes to earth should affect the way you live and interact with others in your everyday life? Try to think of very specific ways this could impact your day to day.
