2018 Haiti Mission Trip!
We have a small team of leaders heading to Haiti in 2 weeks on a vision trip for the future of Freshwater Church in the community of Carrefour. A friend of ours, who is also our translator, and his wife have recently started a preschool in their home called Le Soleil and they are in need of supplies to continue through the school year. It is our heart to come alongside Samuel and Marjory and support this vision to advance the Kingdom and the Gospel as well as empower young lives through education and provide jobs within their community.
The vision for Le Soliel (which in Kreyol means “the sun”)… Samuel and Marjory said, “The idea to start a school came to us pretty much the same way we started the youth ministry. We’re hoping to provide jobs to people in the area we’re ministering to and where we live. We also wanted to help kids with their schooling in a way that would be affordable for their families. This school won’t be free, but it will give more families an opportunity to give their children a great education.” (https://www.youcaring.com/samuelmarjorychristalin-829499)
Here is a list of items Le Soleil needs that the team will take with them for this trip. If you have these items at home or have a Walmart run to make tonight, sign up on the google doc and bring them to church tomorrow. If not, you will have the opportunity to sign up tomorrow and bring the items NEXT SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 26th.
